About the estate

The Balla pince estate was founded in 1999 by Dr. Géza Balla in the historical Ménes wine region within the Arad foothills. Spanning 148 hectares of vineyards, the winery cultivates 75 percent red and 25 percent white grape varieties, focusing primarily on traditional grapes of the Carpathian Basin. The portfolio includes varieties such as Királyleányka, Kadarka, Kékfrankos, as well as several international grapes. The estate combines traditional methods with modern technologies, practicing low cordon training and strict yield control in the vinification process. Vinification is predominantly spontaneous, with white wines generally produced reductively and red wines aged in wooden barrels after fermentation.

The eno directory lists 20 wines, mostly from Gamza and Feketeleányka. The estate sells to horeca.
