About the estate
The 4 Kilos estate was founded in 2006 in Mallorca by Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero. The vineyards are situated in various municipalities across the south and north of Mallorca, operating outside any specific designation of origin. The vines are predominantly planted on clay-loam soils with abundant iron oxide, cultivating grape varieties such as Callet, Cabernet Sauvignon, French Fogoneu, Merlot, Monastrell, and Syrah. Viticulture relies on rational, environmentally respectful methods with local growers, utilizing native cover crops to achieve concentration and soil health. Vinification involves manual grape selection and variable fermentation and barrel-aging techniques adapted to each vintage.
