The Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges, S.A. based in Nelas in the Dão region was founded in 1884 and operates vineyards across the demarcated regions of Vinhos Verdes, Dão and Douro, encompassing the estates Quinta de Simaens, Quinta do Ôro, Quinta de São Simão da Aguieira, Quinta da Roda and Quinta da Soalheira. The producer maintains vinification centers in Felgueiras, Sabrosa and Nelas and crafts sparkling wines using the Classic Method, highlighted by Fita Azul in 1934, alongside the Borges Real Senhor and Gatão labels as well as brandies matured in French oak casks and vats. Listed in the CVR Dão – Agentes económicos e Quintas directory, the company has accumulated accolades including 94 points for the Borges Soalheira Vintage Port 2017 from Wine Enthusiast and medals at the AWC Vienna International Wine Trophy and Berliner Wine Trophy. The portfolio features still wines from Vinhos Verdes, Dão and Douro such as the Borges Touriga Nacional 2017 and Borges Reserva Dão Red 2015, alongside Port wines like the Borges Soalheira Port Old Tawny 20 Years and Borges LBV 2015. In addition to red and white table wines, the production includes rosé wines, sparkling options such as Gatão Sparkling Reserve Medium Dry, and spirits.
