Über den Betrieb
Das Weingut Sugrue South Downs wurde im Jahr 2006 von Dermot Sugrue gegründet und wird heute von ihm gemeinsam mit Ana Sugrue geführt. Der Betrieb bewirtschaftet in East und West Sussex rund viereinhalb Hektar Rebfläche auf Kreideböden. Im Fokus stehen Schaumweine, die in alten Eichenfässern vergoren und vor der Vermarktung über mehrere Jahre gereift werden. Ergänzt wird das Portfolio durch limitierte stillgelegte Weine aus der Region. Die Weine sind international bekannt und werden weltweit in gehobenen Restaurants sowie von Weinhändlern geschätzt.
Im eno-Verzeichnis sind 12 Weine erfasst, überwiegend aus Chardonnay und Pinot Noir. Der Betrieb beliefert Gastronomie, Handel und Distributoren. Exportiert wird unter anderem nach Italien, Spanien und Schweiz.
