About the estate

The Weingut Wenzl GmbH estate is located in Matzen in the southern Weinviertel and looks back on a tradition that began in the 1930s. On a vineyard area of over 22 hectares, the winery cultivates predominantly loess soils with typical regional grape varieties. The main varieties of the estate are Grüner Veltliner for white wines and Zweigelt for red wines, complemented by other varieties such as Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot noir. Through close-to-nature production without herbicides and insecticides, combined with modern cellar technology, the estate produces varietal wines marketed under the Weinviertel DAC denomination.

The eno directory lists 9 wines, mostly from Grüner Veltliner and Riesling. Export markets include Czechia, Slovakia, Netherlands and Germany.
