About the estate

The Maximin Staadt estate, located in Kastel-Staadt, is one of the oldest wineries in Germany and looks back on a history dating back to Roman times. Around 1582, the property came into the possession of the monks of the Maximiner Abbey in Trier, before passing into noble hands in the early 19th century and being acquired by the current owners in 2016. The vineyards cover approximately 14 hectares on a steep south-facing slope which, together with a favorable microclimate and the influence of the Saar, provides ideal conditions for viticulture. The estate works hand in hand with nature and with respect for the environment to preserve the traditional character of the region.

The eno directory lists 6 wines, mostly from Riesling.
