About the estate

The Karl Born & Sohn winery is a small family business whose origins lie in livestock and arable farming as well as winemaking for personal use. In 1950, the first vineyards were planted for bulk wine marketing, before bottled wine was sold for the first time in 1986. Today, the estate cultivates vineyards in the Wollmesheimer Mütterle site, which is characterised by deep soils, sufficient precipitation and plenty of sunshine. All work in the vineyard and wine cellar is carried out under the family's own responsibility, with only the best grapes of the vintage selected for the bottled wines.
