Le domaine Weingut Karl Born & Sohn est une petite entreprise familiale dont les origines reposent sur l'élevage et la grande culture ainsi que sur la viticulture pour la consommation personnelle. En 1950, les premières vignes ont été plantées pour la commercialisation de vin en vrac, avant que du vin en bouteille ne soit vendu pour la première fois en 1986. Aujourd'hui, le domaine cultive des vignes sur le site de Wollmesheimer Mütterle, qui se caractérise par des sols profonds, des précipitations suffisantes et un fort ensoleillement. Tous les travaux à la vigne et à la cave sont réalisés sous la propre responsabilité de la famille, seuls les meilleurs raisins du millésime étant sélectionnés pour les vins en bouteille.
