About the estate
The Karl + Alfred Kettermann winery located in Enkirch along the Moselle river is operated as a family tradition dating back to great-grandmother Sofie Kettermann. Eighty percent of the vineyards consist of steep slopes featuring weathered slate soils, where Riesling is predominantly cultivated alongside Kerner, Müller-Thurgau and Dornfelder. Due to the steep terrain, much of the vineyard work is done entirely by hand. The wines are traditionally aged in oak barrels within the estate's vaulted cellar. The portfolio offers a broad range of flavor profiles as estate-bottled wines.
