About the estate

The Weingalerie im Schweigenberge estate in Freyburg (Unstrut) has combined viticulture and art appreciation in a traditional vineyard since its opening in 2008. The premises are located in the former control room of a waterworks situated within the Saale-Unstrut-Triasland cultural landscape. On the local shell limestone soils, the winery cultivates the grape varieties Pinot Blanc, Riesling, and Pinot Noir. The estate's own wines are characterized by a mineral note and are offered on-site in the terraced vineyards as well as in the associated tavern.
