About the estate
The Weinbau Schönig estate has been cultivating vineyards in Sommerhausen across four generations, including sites such as Steinbach, Ölspiel, and Reifenstein. The family focuses on the cultivation of shell limestone slopes, combining Franconian winemaking tradition with modern expertise. Despite the use of modern machinery, genuine manual labor remains central to vineyard management. The wines are vinified independently in the estate's own vaulted cellar to produce individual, full-bodied, and authentic qualities. Distribution takes place directly through the estate's own vinotheque located in the historic center of Sommerhausen.
