About the estate
The traditional family estate Weinbau Ackerl has been cultivating around 3.5 hectares of vineyards in Ober- and Mitterretzbach at the foothills of the Manhartsberg since 1860. The vines thrive predominantly on primary rock soils such as granite and gneiss, which are overlaid by tertiary sand layers. The sunny and low-precipitation region in Austria shapes the wines with a characterful and expressive profile. The winery places great emphasis on viticulture close to nature to create honest wines that reflect their origin.
The eno directory lists 16 wines, mostly from Neuburger and Zweigelt. The estate sells to retail. Export markets include Germany.
