About the estate
The Vinski podrum Buzet winery was founded in 2006 by Dimitri Brečević in Buzet, Istria. The winemaker studied enology in Bordeaux and gained international experience in France and New Zealand before relocating to his father's homeland. Under the brand name Piquentum, the estate produces wines from Malvazija Istarska, Teran, Refošk, and Rose. The wines mature in a historic former Italian water cistern dating back to the 1930s, located directly beneath the hill of Buzet. The production aims to authentically express the character of the local terroir and grape varieties.
