Tauss

About the estate

The biodynamic Tauss estate is located in Schlossberg near Leutschach on the wine road in South Styria. The winery cultivates six hectares of vineyards in a quiet, secluded location at an altitude of 390 to 450 metres. The contiguous vineyard is named Hohenegg and has a southern and southwestern exposure. The soils consist of calcareous marl, locally also known as Opok. Since 2006, the winery has been a member of the Demeter umbrella organization and operates according to the strict guidelines of biodynamic agriculture.

The eno directory lists 16 wines, mostly from Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. The estate sells to horeca and retail. Export markets include Czechia, France, Switzerland and Spain.
