The Royal Agricultural University (Cotswold Hills Wine) estate is located in Down Ampney near Cirencester in the Cotswolds and manages a 2.6-hectare, south-facing vineyard. The vineyard was planted in 2010 and the tenancy was taken on by the university in 2016, with the project serving to provide students with enterprise experience while proceeds support student entrepreneurs. The planted grape varieties mainly consist of Ortega alongside proportions of Bacchus, Chardonnay, Seyval Blanc, and Rondo. The harvested grapes are processed by an alumnus in neighboring Gloucestershire to produce a range of still and sparkling wines as well as canned wine options.
