About the estate

The Quirtner Alfred und Andrea winery is located in Meiseldorf in the Weinviertel region and looks back on a long family history. In the mid-19th century, ancestor Michael Much brought noble vine cuttings from Valtellina to the area and cultivated the Much’scher Veltliner from them. An original vine of this variety planted in 1891 can still be admired on the estate, and the variety continues to be selected by the family to this day. Furthermore, ancestors of the winemaking family are historically connected to the renovation of Altenburg Abbey.
