About the estate

The Kontozisis estate was founded in 1991 by Andreas Kontozisis and his family in Kanalia, located in the Karditsa region. Spanning 56.65 hectares of privately owned vineyards across the Kanalia and Dafnospilia terroirs at the foothills of the Agrafa mountains, the winery strictly follows organic and biodynamic farming methods. All tasks in the vineyard and during vinification are performed by hand, focusing on minimal intervention and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. A core vision of the winery is the revival of the rare local red variety Limniona, which serves as the flagship of the portfolio. The estate produces authentic, single-varietal natural wines that express the unique character of the local terroir.
