About the estate
The Marestel - Domaine Carrel estate looks back on a family history that began in 1882 with one hectare of vineyards and is now managed by the sixth generation. The cultivated vineyards now cover 15 hectares and extend across the slopes of Marestel, among other locations. The grape varieties grown include Altesse, Pinot Noir, Jacquère, Gamay, and Mondeuse. The winery operates according to certified sustainable agriculture standards, avoids chemical weed killers in mechanisable vineyards, and uses biocontrol plant protection products. The wines are protected under the AOC Savoie, Roussette de Marestel, and Roussette de Savoie denominations and are now also distributed internationally.
The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Altesse and Mondeuse. The estate sells to importers. Export markets include Italy.
