About the estate

The Fakin winery has its origins in the village of Bataji below Motovun, where the estate was founded as a small family project by Elio and Marko Fakin in 2010. Today, the winery cultivates 30 hectares of vineyards on white, stony soils rich in limestone and shale around Motovun and Brkač. The portfolio focuses on indigenous grape varieties such as Malvazija, Teran, and Muškat, which are crafted into site-driven wines. Vineyard management relies on organic soil practices and strict yield reduction, while trained oenologist Marko Fakin personally oversees operations in the cellar. The wines reflect the character of the region and are distributed globally.
