About the estate
The Clos-Meckert estate is located in Heiligenstein at the foot of Mont St Odile in the area of Barr. The family looks back on a long tradition as winemakers and craftsmen, passing the vineyards down from generation to generation. The winery cultivates, vinifies, matures, and markets all grape varieties of the region. The old vineyards feature a diverse population of heterogeneous plants, bringing unique complexity and distinct personality to the wines. Soil management is carried out by alternating between mowing and scratching, while vine diseases are treated traditionally with Bordeaux mixture.
