About the estate

The Château Tropchaud L'Église is considered the oldest estate in Pomerol and is located in the heart of the appellation on the Right Bank of the Dordogne. Acquired by Émile Castéja in 1973 and managed today by Philippe Castéja, the property covers seven hectares of vineyards. The soils consist predominantly of gravel, clay, and iron pan. The vines are planted primarily to Merlot with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc. The estate produces red wines appreciated for their aromatic richness.
