About the estate
The Château Haut-Rigal estate was founded in 1867 by Pierre-Alexis Domec in Pian-sur-Garonne and has remained in the same family for six generations. Today, the winery is managed by winemaker Marielle Baissas, who applies environmentally friendly agricultural practices certified by Terra Vitis and HVE level 3. The estate spans 25 hectares of vineyards located on both the right and left banks of the Garonne. On the clay-gravel soils of the right bank, the property produces wines under the Bordeaux appellation, while the gravelly soils of the left bank yield wines of the Graves appellation. The planted grape varieties include traditional Bordeaux varieties such as Muscadelle, Sémillon, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc.
