About the estate
The Château Desmirail derives its name from Jean-Baptiste Desmirail, the husband of the original owner Marguerite Rauzan du Ribail. Located in Margaux, the estate features an elegant 18th-century chartreuse and a well-preserved late 19th-century gravity-fed vat room. The winery follows reasoned viticulture practices and has been certified as High Environmental Value since the 2018 vintage. Its wines are crafted as a blend of Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Petit-Verdot, and Cabernet-Franc. These wines combine the complexity of Cabernet-Sauvignon with the roundness of Merlot, yielding styles suited for consumption both in their youth and after aging.
