About the estate
The Cantine San Marzano winery was founded in 1962 by 19 winegrowers in the center of the DOP Primitivo di Manduria in Apulia. In 1982, Francesco Cavallo became chairman of the board of directors and has since shaped the development of the estate. With the acquisition of a modern bottling plant in 1996, the cooperative transitioned from selling bulk wine to marketing bottled wine under its own brand. The portfolio includes wines from denominations such as Primitivo di Manduria DOC, Puglia IGT, Salento IGP, Salice Salentino DOP, and Valle d'Itria IGT. The most renowned product is the iconic Sessantanni label, produced from old vines.
The eno directory lists 35 wines, mostly from Primitivo and Susumaniello. The estate sells to retail.
