About the estate

The Cantina La baia del Sole estate was founded in 1985 by Isa and Giulio Federici in Ortonovo and is currently managed by the fourth generation of the family. The vineyards are situated across the hills of Colli di Luni and the Magra river valley in the border region between Liguria and Tuscany. Production focuses primarily on Vermentino, benefiting from the unique microclimate influenced by the sea and the Apuan Alps. The winery applies integrated pest management practices and avoids chemical herbicides in the vineyards to protect the environment. The resulting wines reflect the indigenous grape varieties and the traditional winegrowing heritage of this historic coastal territory.
