About the estate

The Cantina Balbiano Merchiorre estate traces its roots back to 1941 when Melchiorre Balbiano obtained a wine sales permit and dedicated his work to local viticulture. Today, the family-run winery is managed in the third generation by Luca Balbiano, while founder Francesco Balbiano previously drove the modernization and restructuring of the production facilities. The portfolio focuses on traditional wines from Piedmont, with a particular emphasis on indigenous grape varieties and Freisa di Chieri from the hills around Turin. The estate combines longstanding family traditions with modern winemaking techniques and has built an international presence through exports to markets including the United States.
