About the estate

The Bodegas Villa Amalia estate traces back to the Basso family originally from Genoa, who has been producing wine since 1922 and acquired a small winery in Carrodilla, Mendoza, in 1997. Today, the operation with two vineyards in the Uco Valley, Finca La Amalia in Altamira and Finca Los Montes Negros in Los Arboles, is run by Carlos and his son Adolfo. The property covers a total vineyard area of 274.5 hectares with alluvial soils composed of limestone, sand, and gravel. Cultivated varieties include various red and white grapes such as Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Chardonnay. The portfolio features distinct lines including Signature, Gran Reserva, and Reserva.

The eno directory lists 12 wines, mostly from Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
