About the estate

The Stelzl winery is situated on a hill south of Leutschach in South Styria and is family-owned in the fourth generation. The single vineyards Mariengarten, Sonnegg and Schatulberg provide grapes that come exclusively from the estate's own vineyards and are harvested by hand. Alfred Stelzl focuses on natural vinification without technical procedures for concentration or artificial flavoring. Around eighty percent of the wines mature classically in stainless steel tanks, while the remaining portion ages for at least twelve months in large oak barrels. The portfolio includes wines with regional denominations such as South Styria DAC.
