About the estate

The Weingut & Vinothek Hirt-Gebhardt has its origins in the center of the wine village Martinsthal in the Rheingau, where the Gebhardt family has been documented since the end of the Thirty Years' War. Through marriage, the current name of the estate was established in 1948, which Christian Gebhardt and his wife Elke subsequently expanded to 23 hectares of vineyards. Today, their son Christian Gebhardt jr. and his wife Claire continue the family's winemaking tradition together. To accommodate further development, the estate relocated from the constrained village center of Martinsthal to the Eltviller Sonnenberg, where the new winery was built.
