About the estate
The Weingut Sankt Georg estate is located in Wintrich on the Middle Moselle and looks back on a long family tradition in winemaking that dates back to the 17th century. Following a shift to pure viticulture and direct bottle marketing, Kurt Basten and his wife Inge took over the parental business in 1975. In 1976, construction began on the current estate building outside the village amidst the vineyards, which was completed in 1977. Today, the winery is jointly managed by Kurt and Inge Basten.
