About the estate

Situated in Merl on the Moselle, the Weingut Richard Scheid estate is a third-generation family business managed today by Julian Scheid together with his parents Matthias and Heike. Six hectares of vineyards situated in steep and very steep locations are cultivated with grape varieties such as Riesling, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Müller-Thurgau. The managed parcels include the Merler Königslay-Terrassen, Merler Stephansberg, and Merler Fettgarten sites. The winery applies organic viticulture principles with a preventative approach to produce wines with a distinct character.
