About the estate
The Gernert winery was built in 1851 from the ruin stones of Kropsburg Castle and acquired by the family in 1934. In 1958, Norbert Gernert shifted the operation's focus from bulk wine production to bottling estate wines. Since 1990, Thomas Gernert has continued the estate's long winemaking tradition. Spanning approximately 13 hectares of vineyards, the estate produces a structured portfolio ranging from everyday country wine to selection wine aged in barriques.
