About the estate
The Felix Schädler estate looks back on a family tradition of over 250 years in Maikammer in the Palatinate, with direct marketing beginning in 1959. The vineyards are located within a radius of about five kilometers in municipalities such as Maikammer, Alsterweiler, Kirrweiler, Diedesfeld, and Hambach. The soils along the edge of the Palatinate Forest are very sandy and rich in iron, while sites like the Kalkofen feature a high proportion of clay and loam. The grape variety portfolio includes Riesling, various Pinot varieties, Gewürztraminer, Silvaner, Sauvignon Blanc, and Ortega, among others. In the historic vaulted cellar built in 1884, the wines mature using modern cellar technology as well as traditional wooden barrels for the red wines.
The eno directory lists 5 wines, mostly from Pinot Noir and Ortega. The estate sells to retail.
