About the estate

The Dr. Hage estate was founded in 1991 by Dr. Eberhard Hage in the Saale-Unstrut region when he began reviving old vineyards outside the gates of Freyburg. In the year 2000, the operation evolved from a grape producer into a full-fledged winery with its own wine cellar and tasting rooms. A total of 18 grape varieties thrive on terraced vineyards and single-pole training systems, including Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Pinot Noir, and fungus-resistant varieties. The portfolio includes dry, off-dry, and sweet wines in various bottle sizes for retail and gastronomy. Many of the wines have already received awards at state and federal wine competitions.
