About the estate
The Weingut Deckert was established on July 1, 1990, as the first private, full-time winery in the new federal states of Germany. The company headquarters is located near the historic center of Freyburg on the Unstrut river, directly opposite remnants of the old city wall. Over the years, the estate has developed into one of the largest producers in the region. The cellars are managed by winemaker Lisa Weineck, the daughter of the house, who grew up working in the family business. The estate also offers wine tastings for groups and on-site vacation apartments for visitors.
