About the estate

The Weingut Alfred Merkelbach estate has been cultivating 1.4 hectares of vineyards since 1867, featuring steep sites such as Ürziger Würzgarten and Kinheimer Rosenberg with old, ungrafted vines. The Merkelbach brothers maintain a traditional, delicately fruity-mineral, and classic style, while the dry wines are matured in the cool cellar at the foot of the Würzgarten slope. Longstanding friendly ties exist between the Merkelbach and Selbach families, which led to the continuation of the winery in its proven style.
