About the estate
The traditional estate Weingut 1640 Mohr is located in the old town center of Leutesdorf amidst the picturesque river landscape of the Middle Rhine and is run by the eleventh and twelfth generations of the Mohr family. As the oldest surviving winery in the village, it cultivates steeply sloped vineyards within the Rhenish Slate Mountains. The grape variety portfolio includes Riesling as well as aromatic varieties such as Muskateller and Gewürztraminer. The estate relies on sustainable viticulture, elaborate manual labor in the vineyards, and gentle processing of the hand-harvested grapes in the wine cellar.
