The winery's name refers to a dated brick from 1838 found in their historic cellar, which commemorates the history of the Moravian Croats in the area. The estate utilizes its unique location on the border of the Mikulov and Znojmo wine subregions to process grapes from both areas. The winery avoids large-scale production and instead focuses on small batches.
