About the estate

The Vega Sicilia estate looks back on a long history that began in 1864 when Eloy Lecanda initiated professional winemaking activities at the property. In 1982, the Álvarez family acquired the estate, laying the foundation for continuous growth and the creation of additional winery projects. The historic buildings of the property feature modern vinification facilities, an in-house cooperage for producing oak barrels, and extensive, climate-controlled cellars for bottle and barrel aging. The architecture combines traditional elements with modern technical equipment, while the surrounding vineyards and gardens define the character of the traditional estate.
