The Gerd Petgen sparkling wine estate was founded on June 1, 1990, in Sehndorf, with the Petgen family having cultivated wine on the Moselle since 1720. The estate utilizes the shell limestone soils and the climate of the Upper Moselle in Saarland as an ideal basis for viticulture. Finest Riesling and Pinot wines form the foundation for producing sparkling wines created through traditional bottle fermentation. Careful treatment of nature, ripe grapes, and an individual vinification style characterize the estate's working methods.
