About the estate
The Riesling-Weingut Karl Erbes winery was founded in 1967 by Karl Erbes in Ürzig and is managed today in the second generation by his son Stefan Erbes. The estate cultivates five hectares of vineyards in steep slate sites along the Middle Moselle, including the Ürziger Würzgarten and Erdener Treppchen. One hundred percent of the vines are own-rooted Riesling and undergo selective hand harvesting. The wines are aged primarily in traditional wooden barrels in the estate cellar. Two thirds of the production are exported worldwide to America, Asia, and Scandinavia.
The eno directory lists 2 wines, mostly from Riesling.
