About the estate
The KOLBY a.s. winery was founded in 1997 by Oldřich Drápal and is located in Pouzdřany within the Morava wine region. Covering nearly 40 hectares of vineyards, the estate cultivates numerous white and red grape varieties including Riesling, Welschriesling, Pinot Blanc, and Chardonnay. The vineyards are situated on loess soils featuring a unique steppe microclimate that imparts a distinctive mineral style to the wines. Vineyard management and cellar operations emphasize gentle, predominantly manual processes as well as the combination of modern methods with traditional approaches.
The eno directory lists 14 wines, mostly from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The estate sells to retail.
