About the estate

The Gergen Birtok estate has been part of the Villany wine region community since 2017 and is owned by BORKERT Kft, which was founded in 1996. The historical roots of the property date back to the Turkish era, featuring a cellar beneath the central building in Mariagyud that is over 500 years old. The estate was named after the managing director's great-grandfather, who worked as a teacher in plant breeding. Across an agricultural area of about 40 hectares encompassing vineyards and orchards, the winery produces light, fruit-forward wines alongside juices, spirits, oils, and other regional products. Additionally, the estate hosts wine tastings and events in its historic cellar for visitors.
