About the estate
The family-run Domaine le Portail estate is located in the heart of the Cheverny appellation in the Loire Valley on the grounds of a former monastery where winemaking has been practiced for centuries. The property spans 40 hectares of vineyards distributed across the Cheverny, Cour-Cheverny, and Crémant de Loire appellations, including the regional romorantin grape variety. Since the year 2000, the estate has implemented sustainable farming methods and achieved High Environmental Value certification in 2020. Vinification is carried out using traditional methods to preserve the authenticity and character of the terroir. The wines produced by the estate enjoy a solid reputation both in France and internationally.
