About the estate
The Domaine du Grand Clos estate is located south of the Loire in the Saumur appellation, covering 30 hectares of vineyards with clay-limestone soils composed of chalk and tuffeau. The average age of the vines is 25 years, with planted grape varieties including Chenin, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Chardonnay. The terroir shapes wines distributed across seven appellations such as Saumur, Crémant de Loire, and Cabernet d’Anjou. Since 2018, the estate has held HVE environmental certification, supported by practices such as soil analysis, plot selection, cover cropping, and the planting of hedges. Additionally, the property features extensive troglodyte cellars carved into the rock.
The eno directory lists 7 wines.
