About the estate
The family-run Domaine Alain Gueneau estate manages sixteen hectares of vineyards situated on steep slopes around Sury-en-Vaux, Chavignol, and Sancerre. Approximately eighty percent of the vines grow on clay-limestone soils known as terres blanches, which impart richness and complexity to the wines. The remaining twenty percent are planted on stony soils that contribute pleasant fruit characteristics. The winery welcomes trade and private visitors directly at the cellar for tastings.
