About the estate
The Club Batonnage project was founded in 2001 by five winemakers following a wine tasting in Illmitz. The objective was to create an Austrian red wine featuring a unique style and strength. For the cuvée, the ripest grapes of the Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot varieties from different regions are selected jointly. Following a two-year maturation in new French barrique barrels, production is strictly limited to a maximum of twelve barrels per vintage. The bottles are finished with a red scorpion and a hand-drawn lettering.
