The Cantina Sociale La Versa estate was founded in 1905 with the objective of cultivating Pinot Nero for sparkling wine production. From 1930 onwards, the winery gained international recognition and initiated exports based on this grape variety. The producer is located in Oltrepò Pavese, a territory with a substantial area dedicated to Pinot Nero. In the autumn of 2019, the historic brand became part of the Gruppo Terre d’Oltrepò. A prominent Metodo Classico of the estate is crafted from a blend of Pinot Nero and Chardonnay.
