About the estate
The Azienda Agricola Il Pratello is located in a wild and wooded area in the Apennines near Modigliana at an altitude of 600 meters. In 1991, Emilio Placci established the vineyards on shallow soils above marl and sandstone, surrounded by chestnut forests. Today, the organically managed estate produces characterful and long-lived Sangiovese wines with a strong territorial imprint. Significant temperature variations between day and night, combined with low yields per vine, impart intense aromas to the grapes and great structure to the wines. The untouched natural surroundings provide optimal conditions for producing high-quality grapes.
