About the estate

The Adgestone Vineyard estate located in Sandown on the Isle of Wight is recognized as the oldest continuously operating commercial vineyard in the UK. Founded in 1968, the family-run business is managed by Philippa and Russ and spans a vineyard area of ten acres. The original plantings of the Seyval Blanc grape variety from the founding year remain intact, representing the oldest commercial vines in the country. In addition to winemaking, the team produces natural country wines and liqueurs utilizing their own fermentation vats. Every single stage of production, from the growth of the vines to the final taste of the wine, is controlled directly on the estate.
